Duluth Pack Improves Customer Service with Microsoft Dynamics GP

BACKGROUND:

In 1870, the Duluth Pack, a rugged canvas sack, was developed and sold in a small retail store in Duluth, Minnesota by French-Canadian, Camille Poirer. Nearly 140-years later, the company continues to grow and today is a flourishing outdoor gear and travel bag retailer with a 5000 square-foot flagship store in Duluth, as well as an active catalog business and online e-commerce store.

As their online business continued to grow, Duluth Pack needed a more reliable solution to connect their open-source e-commerce solution called Magento, to their existing financial accounting solution, Microsoft Dynamics GP.

CHALLENGE:

As Duluth Pack was experiencing growth of their online business, it became difficult to manage and update product and inventory detail, track accurate customer data and process orders efficiently. They lacked an easy and reliable way to update and change products on the site as well as connect and process order information and details to their financial accounting solution, Microsoft Dynamics GP, quickly and easily.

After learning about CBIZ Connexia's web integration expertise and experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Duluth Pack selected them to develop the integration of the two solutions.

Duluth Pack needed a solution that would address the following:

  • Accuracy and Stability: They needed a reliable and stable solution that would accurately track customer details and order information and resolve the issues the existing system was causing in recording duplicate customer data and order activity.

  • Faster Order Processing: In order to improve customer service and turn-around time, they needed the ability to process online orders more quickly and efficiently.

  • Usability: It was necessary to have a solution that was easy to use and allowed the team to update the site quickly with new product information and inventory.

SOLUTION:

CBIZ Connexia came on board to develop the website integration of Magento and Microsoft Dynamics GP. "Before the new integration of our

e-commerce site to Microsoft Dynamics GP, we used to worry about the stability of our site and the reliability of the data in the system but now we don't worry about it. With the old solution, processing orders was a tedious task. With the new integration, Duluth Pack doesn't have to rely on manual steps and orders are processed more quickly, increasing staff efficiency and improving customer service capabilities.

RESULTS:

The organization is now able to update the website quickly and easily, process and track customer orders from start to finish and focus on more proactively serving its customers. NHIB Hits the Ground Running with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Plexis Claims Manager

BACKGROUND:

National Health Insurance Plan (NHIP) is a new form of health coverage that insures the entire population of Turks and Caicos and is a key pillar of a comprehensive social security system intended to protect the well-being of the people of the Islands. The National Health Insurance Plan is run by the National Health Insurance Board (NHIB), a statuary body run by the government of Turks and Caicos. Enrollment in the National Health Insurance Program is mandatory for all those who are employed or reside permanently in the Turks and Caicos Islands. (with specific eligibility requirements)

As a new health care program to the people of Turks and Caicos, the NHIB needed to get their operational systems up and running quickly which included implementing Plexis Claims Manager and Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting/ERP solutions.

CHALLENGE:

As a new organization, NHIB needed to implement a claims management and accounting/ERP solution from scratch which would accommodate a large membership base of nearly 30,000 members. The organization selected Plexis Healthcare Systems Claims Manager benefit administration software to handle the claims processing, but still needed a robust accounting/ERP solution to complete the picture. That's when they looked to CBIZ Connexia to implement Microsoft Dynamics GP, a financial accounting/ERP solution with strong integration to Plexis.

NHIB needed a financial accounting/ERP solution that would address the following:

  • Compatibility: NHIB required an accounting/ERP solution that was compatible with Plexis Claims Manager software.
  • Useability: It was necessary to have a solution that was easy to use and allowed the accounting and billing teams to process claims on a weekly basis, and bill and collect payments on a daily basis.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: NHIB needed a solution that they could build upon as their needs evolved and one that offered flexible reporting options to analyze financial information.

SOLUTION:

Plexis recommended CBIZ Connexia, a leading Microsoft Gold Certified partner, who came on board to implement Microsoft Dynamics GP. "We knew that we needed a robust accounting/ERP solution that fully integrated with Plexis, and Microsoft Dynamics GP was the answer," said Desiree James, Chief Financial Officer of the National Health Insurance Board.

To help get them up and running quickly and reduce time and effort spent on key accounting tasks, CBIZ Connexia implemented the General Ledger module functionality of Microsoft Dynamics GP. With regular weekly claims processing and billing needs, Microsoft Dynamics GP helps NHIB track health insurance claim information, and processes and invoices claims to various providers quickly and easily. "The capabilities of the solution allow us to intelligently manage our financial operations, streamline our accounting processes and give us the vital information we need to serve our members with great accuracy and efficiency," she added.

RESULTS:

Under a tight two-month timeframe, CBIZ Connexia was able to deliver an integrated accounting solution for NHIB. The organization is now able to process and pay claims weekly, and serves its large member base with confidence. As the NHIB grows and evolves, James is also looking forward to the additional functionality that Microsoft Dynamics GP brings to the table.
